The Emir of Karaye, His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammad Muhammad Maharazu, has pledged his full support toward the reopening of Karaye Unity College, assuring members of the Karaye Old Boys Association (KAROBA) of his commitment to engage relevant authorities to facilitate the process.

The Emir gave the assurance when the National President of KAROBA, ACI Murtala Uba Sule Burum-Burum (Rtd.), led members of the association’s executive on a courtesy visit to his palace.

Speaking during the visit, the monarch promised to personally intervene by consulting the Kano State Commissioner for Education and other key stakeholders to ensure the school is reopened.

“I assure you of my personal support. I will contact and consult the Commissioner for Education and all relevant stakeholders to ensure that Karaye Unity College is reopened,” the Emir said.

The Emir expressed appreciation to the KAROBA leadership for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of their commitment to the future of the institution and the education of younger generations.

Earlier, the National President of KAROBA, ACI Murtala Uba Sule Burum-Burum (Rtd.), explained that the purpose of the visit was to seek the Emir’s intervention in appealing to the Kano State Government to reopen the school.

“Your Royal Highness, we are here with members of our executive to seek your fatherly intervention and support in appealing to the state government and the Commissioner for Education to urgently address the dilapidated condition of Karaye Unity College and facilitate its reopening,” he said.

Burum-Burum noted that the continued closure of the school was causing further deterioration of its facilities and depriving young people in the area of quality education.

He appealed to the authorities to treat the matter with urgency, stressing that reopening the school would restore educational activities and preserve the institution’s legacy.

“As our father and mentor, we will always appreciate your support. No matter the situation, a child always runs to his father for guidance, and that is why we have come to seek your intervention,” he added.

Also speaking, former KAROBA National Chairman, Alhaji Isa Ilyasu Dallatun Karaye, and the association’s Secretary, Shehu Mohammed Lami Kwai, commended the Emir for his warm reception and expressed confidence that his intervention would greatly assist efforts to restore normal academic activities at Karaye Unity College.

They reaffirmed the association’s commitment to working with traditional and government authorities to ensure the school’s reopening for the benefit of future generations.
