The National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation Team has visited Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) to assess its Nursing Science Programme as part of an ongoing accreditation exercise.

The team was received by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, and other principal officers of the university during a courtesy visit.

A statement signed by the University’s Acting Director of Public Relations, Media and Internal Affairs, Jibrin Ado Dandawaki, said the visit formed part of the ongoing accreditation engagement for the Nursing Science Programme.

Speaking during the visit, the team leader congratulated Professor Garba on his appointment as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of KHAIRUN and commended the progress recorded by the university since its establishment.

He explained that the accreditation exercise was not intended to witch-hunt the institution but to objectively assess its facilities, staffing, academic resources and other requirements necessary for the effective delivery of the Nursing Science Programme.

The team leader also noted that the exercise would provide an opportunity to offer constructive recommendations where necessary to strengthen the programme and improve academic standards.

Responding, Professor Garba warmly welcomed the NUC team and expressed appreciation for its visit.

He prayed for a successful and fruitful accreditation exercise and wished the members a safe journey back to their respective destinations.

The Vice-Chancellor also briefed the team on the vision and mission of the university’s founder, Sheikh Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu, as well as the institution’s commitment to producing academically sound and morally upright graduates through its various programmes.

Professor Garba assured the accreditation team of the university’s full cooperation throughout the exercise, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining academic standards, continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.
