The Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, has received members of the Forum of Women Wing of the Nigerian Bar Association at his palace.
Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Emir, the Senior Councilor of the Emirate, who is also Matawalan Kano, Prof. Ahmad Aliyu Ibrahim, advised members of the forum to visit other important and interesting places in the state.
The Emir gave the places to include Gidan Makama Museum, Kurmi Market and Kofar Mata Dying Pit among others.
Speaking, chairperson of the forum, represented by Hajiya Huwaila Muhammad Ibrahim, expressed appreciation to the Emirate over the hospitality accorded them during their visit to the state to hold their first annual general meeting.
The chairperson was represented said the forum now visited the Emirate to intimate the Emir about their programme and to solicit his blessing.
She added that their visit was purposely arranged to see place of interest to both of them.
She said this time around they were in rich culture, adding that the state was selected to be first to host the annual general meeting.
She further added that the state was viewed by their members as the most peaceful and harmonious in the region.
According to her, that was true because they found themselves in a peaceful and harmonious environment as soon as they reached the state.
In the same vein, the secretary of the forum, Mr. Engwochi Agola commended the council for receiving and honouring them.
In another development, the Emir has expressesed more hopes and wishes that the establishment of M I A Micro Finance Bank will go a long way to eradicate poverty and create awareness for promoting self-reliance among the teeming populace in the society.
The Emir also hoped that the bank would boost national economic development.
According to him, launching the bank has raised the area high.
He directed it to be concentrated for further economic development.
On her part, the manager of S P Micro Bank, Hajiya Farida, commended the Emir and seek prompt adjustment for the success, growing and achievement of the bank and the association for less privileged ones to benefit from it.
She said the gesture would also help in moving the nation’s economy forward, especially in terms of assisting women.
