From Shuaibu Ibrahim Gusau

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has said that empowerment goes beyond rhetoric, stressing the need to provide individuals and grassroots organisations with practical tools to achieve self-reliance, restore dignity and enjoy the dividends of democracy.

The Governor stated this on Thursday during the distribution of 300 vehicles and 2,000 motorcycles to various groups and individuals at a ceremony held at the Trade Fair Complex in Gusau.

The empowerment programme, according to the state government, recognises the significant contributions of individuals and groups to the overall development of Zamfara State.

The distribution is part of the government’s efforts to engage beneficiaries in productive activities and boost the local economy.

Speaking at the event, Governor Lawal described the initiative as another milestone in his administration’s Rescue Agenda, aimed at recognising and rewarding individuals and groups contributing to the socio-economic and political development of the state.

He said the programme provided an opportunity to formally distribute the vehicles to carefully selected individuals and political groups across Zamfara State.

The Governor emphasised that empowerment requires providing people and grassroots organisations with the necessary resources to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.

He urged the beneficiaries to remain committed to supporting the administration’s efforts to rebuild and revitalise Zamfara State.

Lawal also advised them to make effective use of the vehicles and motorcycles, noting that the initiative was designed to improve mobility across the state and stimulate economic activities.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, economic revitalisation, and the restoration of peace and stability across Zamfara State.
