From Muawuya Bala Idris, Katsina
The Federal Government has financed and completed 11 constituency road projects in Katsina State, valued at over N16.4 billion.
The Federal Controller of Works in Katsina State, Engr. Mohammed Idris Matinja, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen, saying the projects were facilitated by members of the National Assembly to improve infrastructure in their constituencies.
He listed some of the completed projects to include the Bakori–Dabja Road, Funtua–Malumfashi Road, Mararabar Maska–Tandama Road and Funtua–Dayi Road.
Other constituency road projects include the Tarmamawa–Unguwar Isah Road, Maimagata–Kunkumi Road and Dahiru Village–Tafoki Road, among others.
The Controller further said the Federal Government was financing ongoing road projects, including the Unguwar Iliya–Bagudu Road, covering 17.3 kilometres; the Zaria–Hunkuyi–Dabai Road, covering 153.8 kilometres; and the Kano–Kazaure–Mai’adua Road, covering 29.92 kilometres.
Idris also mentioned the rehabilitation of the Funtua–Dabdume Road, covering 50 kilometres, and the Kukar Babangida–Gangara Road, covering 26 kilometres.
He said the Federal Government was working with the Katsina State Government to complete the Kano–Katsina Road project, noting that the payment of compensation had delayed its completion.
He assured that his office would continue to work towards ensuring the completion of all ongoing road projects across the state.
Idris commended the Federal Government for working with members of the National Assembly from Katsina State to complete constituency road projects awarded across the state.
