The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Murtala Sule Garo, on Friday commended the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election in Garo Ward, Kabo Local Government Area of the state.

Garo spoke shortly after casting his vote at his polling unit in Garo Ward, describing the exercise as a reflection of the party’s commitment to internal democracy and grassroots participation.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa.

The deputy governor praised party members for turning out peacefully and conducting themselves in an orderly manner during the exercise.

“We are really grateful to our elders, women and youths for coming out en masse to cast your votes,” Garo said.

He described Garo Ward as one of the strongholds of the APC in Kano State, noting that residents had consistently demonstrated loyalty and support for the party over the years.

“Since 2015, APC has never lost in this ward. Therefore, we are really grateful once again to all citizens of this ward,” he added.

Also speaking, the Ward Secretary of the party, Abba Salisu Me Wake, who supervised the voting exercise, disclosed that more than 770 votes were cast in favour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the primary.

According to him, the result affirmed Tinubu as the winner of the presidential primary in the ward.

He expressed optimism over the party’s chances in the 2027 general elections and prayed for continued development across the country under the APC administration.
