The All Progressives Congress (APC) Conflict Resolution, Strategy, and Mobilization Committee, chaired by Yobe State Governor, Hon. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni, has begun efforts to reconcile internal differences and strengthen party cohesion ahead of the party’s national convention.
In a statement issued by Mamman Mohammed, the governor’s Director of Press and Media Affairs, the committee, which met at the Yobe State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, stressed the urgent need to resolve conflicts among party stakeholders.
The committee noted that fostering unity and giving members a sense of belonging is critical as the party prepares for upcoming elections.
“This is to give all stakeholders and party members a sense of belonging as the country prepares for the next round of electioneering,” the committee said.
It emphasized sealing differences to ensure the party approaches its programmes and the 2027 general elections with a united front.
The committee has identified states and political actors whose unresolved disputes could pose threats to party cohesion and called for their prompt resolution.
Governor Buni chairs the committee, which includes Governors Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (Kwara), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), and Uba Sani (Kaduna).
Other members include Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy; Bello Matawalle, Minister of State for Defence; former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello; Senator Adamu Aliero; and Senior Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Ibrahim Masari. Muiz Banire SAN serves as secretary.
The committee is expected to continue engagements with key stakeholders to ensure lasting reconciliation and a stronger, united APC ahead of national elections.
