Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, appears to be reaping the benefits of his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, with several developmental and security interventions recently secured for the state.
A statement by Abdullahi Idris Zuru, Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to Governor Idris, highlighted that since taking office, the governor has consistently supported the president and the Renewed Hope Agenda programs.
The statement noted that one of the most significant interventions was the recent rescue of 25 students of Government Girls Secondary School, Maga.
Following Governor Idris’s appeals, President Tinubu deployed the Chief of Army Staff, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, to ensure the safe return of the abducted girls.
Other federal interventions benefiting Kebbi include the revival of the abandoned Koko-Zuru federal road contract and the allocation of 250 kilometers of the 1,068km Sokoto-Badagary Super Highway project.
Governor Idris has also provided vehicles and financial support to security agencies in the state, further strengthening the partnership between Kebbi State and the federal government.
The statement added that the governor’s acknowledgment of the president’s achievements has fostered mutual respect, with the Kebbi State APC chapter passing a vote of confidence endorsing President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
Governor Idris has reportedly visited President Tinubu to express appreciation for the interventions, demonstrating the positive impact of their relationship on Kebbi State’s development and security.
