From Muawuya Bala Idris, Katsina
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved the appointment of three new Permanent Secretaries into the state civil service.
The approval was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Head of the State Civil Service, Mallam Falalu Bawale.
Those appointed are Tukur Hassan Dan Ali from Danmusa Local Government Area, Junaidu Muntari from Kankara Local Government Area, and Yahaya Abdullahi from Safana Local Government Area.
Dan Ali is a journalist and the current Chairman of the Katsina State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
Bawale said the appointments were based strictly on merit, explaining that the new Permanent Secretaries emerged after passing a competitive, merit-based examination conducted by the Public Service Institute of Nigeria on behalf of the state government.
According to him, the process reflects the Radda administration’s commitment to competence, professionalism and integrity in the civil service.
He added that ongoing reforms in the service are anchored on meritocracy and performance, urging the appointees to align themselves with the administration’s “Building Your Future” agenda.
The Head of Service also charged the Permanent Secretaries to justify the confidence reposed in them through diligence and dedication to duty.
The appointments, he said, take immediate effect as the government steps up efforts to reposition the civil service for effective service delivery across the state.
