Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has officially launched an empowerment program worth approximately N58 million, initiated by the member representing Charanchi Constituency in the State House of Assembly.

The initiative includes the distribution of Ramadan packages, financial aid, and economic support to residents.

The empowerment package consists of 32 motorcycles, 50 POS machines, 1,000 bags of 12.5kg millet and maize, and cash assistance totaling over N10 million. The beneficiaries include youth, women, and vulnerable members of the community.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Governor Radda praised the initiative, describing it as a commendable effort by political officeholders to uplift their communities.

“The significant investment made by legislators and other political leaders to support their constituents is highly encouraging,” he said.

He particularly acknowledged the lawmakers for committing over N50 million to assist their people, emphasizing that electorates are “the backbone of any political victory.” He added that the success of elected officials depends on the strong support they receive from their constituencies.

Also speaking at the event, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, lauded the lawmaker for prioritizing the welfare of his constituents.

In his remarks, Hon. Lawal Isah Kuraye, the representative of Charanchi Constituency, said the initiative was inspired by Governor Radda’s leadership.

He described the governor as “a beacon of sincerity” and pledged to sustain similar programs to benefit his people.
