Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has presented a budget proposal of N682,244,449,513.87 to the State House of Assembly.

The proposed budget allocates N157,967,755,024.36, representing 23.15% for recurrent expenditure and N524,274,694,489.51, representing 76.85% for capital expenditure.

The 2025 proposed budget represents a significant increase of 40% over the previous year’s budget, totalling N200,535,619,501.61.

The budget allocates significant funds to key sectors, with education receiving the largest share.

The break down indicate Education receive (N95,995,873,044.70) (14%), Agriculture and Livestock Development N81,840,275,739.70 Works, Housing, and Transport 10% N9,684,806,758.56 Rural and Social Development (N58,728,146,293.72, Water Resources N53,832,219,322.46 Environment N49,835,521,799.25 Health N43,881,752,172.75 and

Internal Security and Home Affairs N18,938,508,746.95 (3%), Others (N230,759,902,908.71

Radda expressed satisfaction with the overall performance of the 2024 budget. He disclosed key achievements of the 2024 budgets to include: improved access to basic services, boosted Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), successful initiation and implementation of numerous projects across various sectors, contributing to the state’s development.

He also highlighted the government’s success in addressing security challenges, stating that bandits have been pushed to the fringes and normalcy has been restored to many local government areas.

Governor Radda expressed optimism about the 2025 budget’s potential to drive economic growth and improve the lives of Katsina State residents. He emphasised that the 2025 budget is designed to build on the successes of the previous year and further drive the state’s development agenda.

The Governor also acknowledged the contributions of development partners, civil servants, and security personnel in the state’s development efforts.

He extends his gratitude to the judiciary, the Executive Council, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and security agencies for their support and contributions.

He also paid tribute to security personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty, offering condolences to their families.

The Governor assured the people of Katsina State that the government remains committed to their welfare and prosperity.

Governor Radda thanked the State House of Assembly for their continued support.

He urged them to expedite the passage of the 2025 budget to enable the state government to deliver on its promises to the people of Katsina State.

The Speaker, Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Nasir Yahaya Daura has assured citizens that the 8th Assembly will conduct a thorough analysis of the 2025 Draft Budget presented by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda.

The Speaker stressed that the Assembly will undertake rigorous oversight to monitor the implementation of developmental projects outlined in the budget, ensuring that they translate into tangible benefits for the people of Katsina State.

He commended Governor Radda for presenting the 2025 Draft Budget, dubbed the “Budget of Consolidation.” and for fostering a harmonious relationship between the legislative, executive, and judicial arms of government.

He assured that the Katsina 8th Assembly remains dedicated to working collaboratively with the executive arm to ensure the timely passage and effective implementation of the 2025 Budget
