Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has received national recognition for his outstanding contributions to nation-building at the 2nd Nigeria’s Nation Builders Annual Award 2024.
The prestigious event, organized by the Council of Civil Society Organizations in collaboration with Vision-One Leadership Development Initiative, was held on Thursday, December 5, at the Army Resource Centre, Abuja.
In a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf was presented with the Certificate of Nation Builder Award and a commemorative plaque, officially earning him the title of “Pillar of Nation Building.”
This award celebrates Governor Yusuf’s exceptional achievements in key areas, including advancing education, enhancing infrastructure, empowering communities, and fostering human capital development in Kano State.
The organizers commended Governor Yusuf for his transformative leadership and his dedication to improving the lives of Kano residents.
They described his policies and governance approach as innovative and impactful, serving as a model of visionary leadership in Nigeria.
The recognition highlights Governor Yusuf’s unwavering commitment to fostering unity, progress, and prosperity across Kano State and the nation.
It reaffirms his role as a leader devoted to inclusive development and sustainable growth that uplifts communities and drives national progress.
The ceremony also featured several notable dignitaries, including the wife of the Vice President, the Governor of Niger State, and the Commandant General of the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, who were honoured for their significant contributions to national development.
Governor Yusuf’s award serves as a testament to his relentless efforts in pursuing initiatives that inspire positive change, positioning Kano State as a benchmark for development and innovation in Nigeria.
While responding at the award ceremony, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, who was represented by his Special Adviser on State Affairs Alhaji Usman Bala mni, said he was delighted as the recognition as a pillar in nation-building underscores his commitment to human capital development.
