Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Tuesday led a high-powered joint security operation to Tsanyawa Local Government Area following escalating attacks and rising insecurity across border communities.

This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Tuesday.

The governor, accompanied by the Commissioner of Police, military commandants, and heads of paramilitary agencies, visited the hardest-hit villages of Sundu, Yan Cibi, and Yanganau, where residents have faced growing threats from armed groups.

During the visit, Governor Yusuf described the situation as “unacceptable,” declaring that his administration would not tolerate criminal activities destabilizing any part of the state.

He assured families that all kidnapped victims would be rescued and reunited with their loved ones, emphasizing that coordinated operations had intensified across the region.

Sources at the scene revealed that the governor held a closed operational session with deployed troops, directing them to adopt more aggressive tactics, rapid response measures, and enhanced intelligence collaboration among security agencies.

Governor Yusuf also met with traditional rulers and community leaders, urging them to strengthen local vigilance while avoiding spreading unverified information capable of causing panic.

He warned that fake news and incitement would be treated as deliberate attempts to undermine security operations.

The emergency visit follows recent reports of renewed bandit activity along Kano’s border communities.

The state government has recently reinforced Joint Task Force deployments, expanded surveillance, and supplied new operational vehicles to security units working in high-risk settlements.

Residents, expressed relief over the governor’s visit and renewed assurance of government protection.

Authorities said security operations would continue across the affected axis as part of ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability.
