The Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has praised members of the state’s House of Assembly for their dedication and commitment to impactful legislation.

Speaking at a breakfast meeting with the lawmakers, Governor Mutfwang emphasized the importance of collaboration between the executive and legislative arms in promoting peace, unity, and delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

The governor expressed satisfaction with the complete inauguration of the 24-member Assembly, stating that it sets the stage for enhanced cooperation aimed at preserving and promoting Plateau’s rich heritage.

He highlighted the need for a symbiotic relationship between the two arms of government to ensure the state’s progress.

Reflecting on his political journey, Governor Mutfwang emphasized the role of divine providence in bringing them together.

He described the current political landscape in Plateau as a “Plateau People’s Party,” a unifying platform for all citizens.

The governor urged the legislators to work in concert with his administration to leave the state better than they found it.

He reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a conducive environment for the House to function optimally and pledged to work closely with them to ensure the Assembly becomes one of the most effective in the state’s history.

In response, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Dewan, expressed gratitude to the governor for his unwavering support and encouragement.

He assured the governor of the Assembly’s commitment to supporting his administration’s vision for a prosperous Plateau.

The meeting was also attended by former Speaker of the House and Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Matters, Rt. Hon. Nuhu Ayuba Abok, who pledged to continue fostering a harmonious working relationship between the executive and legislative arms.
