Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has vehemently denied recent rumors suggesting his defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The rumors, spread via a fabricated electronic flex banner featuring the Governor’s image, were said to have been mounted in Edo State.

In a statement issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, Governor Mutfwang condemned the misleading post as a deliberate attempt to sow discord between him, the PDP leadership, and his loyal supporters.

He emphasized that the rumor was baseless and did not warrant a formal response, but it became necessary to clarify the misinformation and protect his integrity.

Governor Mutfwang reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the PDP, stating that the party’s values and the trust of Plateau State residents were paramount to him.

He acknowledged the strong support the PDP enjoys in the state and dismissed any notion of him contemplating a switch to the APC.

The governor clarified that he had never discussed defection with anyone and urged the public to disregard the actions of those who sought to tarnish his reputation for their own political gain.

He emphasized that the fabricated flex banner was not authorized by him and that his loyalty to the PDP and the people of Plateau State remained steadfast.

The governor urged the public to dismiss the false information and refrain from sharing it further.

He warned that the individuals behind the rumor were acting out of malicious intent and did not have the best interests of the state at heart.
