From Musa Muhammad Kutama, Calabar

The Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, has been described as having recorded remarkable achievements and transformative strides in the state within 1,080 days in office.

This assertion was made by Alhaji Nasiru Madu Baba, a member of the Cross River Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, during an interview with journalists in Calabar.

Alhaji Madu Baba stated that Governor Otu has delivered what he described as “indelible landmarks and achievements” that, according to him, can never be forgotten by the people of the state.

He said: “Immediately His Excellency assumed leadership of Cross River State, he continued with abandoned projects left by his predecessor while also introducing new initiatives.”

He further described the governor as a “silent achiever,” noting that some of the key projects under his administration include the ongoing construction and rehabilitation of the Obudu Cattle Ranch roads, as well as the implementation of the People First agenda and other essential development initiatives across the state.

According to him, the governor has not relented in pursuing transformational policies aimed at improving infrastructure and governance in Cross River State.

Alhaji Madu Baba also commended Governor Otu for establishing the Office of Religious Affairs, including the Hajj office in the state, describing it as a significant step towards inclusivity and religious support.

He called on residents of the state to support the governor in his second-term ambition, urging citizens, especially Northerners residing in Cross River State and Ward 1 in Calabar South to participate actively in the ongoing voter registration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
