Katsina state government in collaboration with the Bank of Industry (BOI) has injected another five Billion naira to recapitalize micro, small and medium entrepreneurs in the state.

In an address at the launch of the state MSME growth fund and Dikko Business Development Service Corp Intervention Program, held at the state secretariat, governor Dikko Radda said the state government is providing three billion naira as matching funds and manage funds.

He said the Bank of Industry would on its part commit two billion naira toward the program.

According to him, the state government has identified three hundred and forty-eight small and medium entrepreneurs that have the growing potential to benefit from the money.

The state governor reminded the targeted entrepreneurs that the money is a loan package to boost their business not a grant.

He promised that the state government would bear the cost of interest associated with the loan.

Mallam Dikko Radda maintained that the launched of the program proved the state government’s commitment to empowering people and driving sustainable economic growth in the state.

He emphasized that the program was intended to provide tailored support and comprehensive, business development under-server the SMEs in the state, particularly in underserved communities.

The governor remarked that the state government had identified 138 BDS Corp volunteers from across the 34 local governments who were trained on the new responsibilities of entrepreneurs advisory services to micro, small and medium entrepreneurs in their local government bi-monthly also assist KASEDA to monitor and report bio-monthly performance of the entrepreneurs.

Earlier in an address of welcome the director general of the state enterprise development Agency, Hajiya Aisha Aminu Malumfashi reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring transparency in allocating the funds to the targeted entrepreneurs in the state.

“This is to ensure impactful and objective in our economy,” she stressed.
