The governor announced the decision during a special meeting held at the Africa House, Government House Kano on Wednesday

The dissolution comes just a week after the Kano State House of Assembly approved a two-month extension to the tenure of the caretaker chairmen, which was set to expire on September 8, 2024.

The extension, slated to run from September 9 to November 9, 2024, was deemed necessary to ensure continuity in local governance.

“This dissolution applies to all chairmen, vice chairmen, secretaries, and councillors.”
