The Chairman of Kabo Local Government Area, Hon. Lawan Najume Kabo, has commended Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for what he described as exemplary leadership and statesmanship in fostering unity and guiding the successful consensus process that produced candidates for elective positions within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Hon. Najume made the remarks during an interactive interview with journalists on Saturday, where he praised the governor’s commitment to consultation, inclusiveness, and internal democracy.

According to him, Governor Yusuf’s approach played a crucial role in ensuring a peaceful and rancour-free consensus exercise, describing the outcome as a testament to the governor’s political wisdom and dedication to strengthening party cohesion.

He noted that the consensus arrangement had not only deepened unity among APC members but had also positioned the party on a stronger footing ahead of future political contests.

The chairman stated that Governor Yusuf’s leadership style served as a model worthy of emulation, prompting party leaders and stakeholders in Kabo and neighbouring Gwarzo Local Government Areas to adopt a similar approach in conducting their own consensus process.

“We took inspiration from the leadership style of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, whose commitment to dialogue and understanding ensured the smooth emergence of candidates.

“Following the same path in Kabo and Gwarzo, we successfully produced candidates accepted by all stakeholders without division or conflict,” he said.

Najume described the peaceful conduct of the exercise as a major victory for the APC, stressing that the overwhelming support demonstrated by party members reflected confidence in the party’s leadership and direction.

Expressing optimism about the party’s electoral prospects, the chairman declared that the APC was well-positioned to secure victory across Kano State due to its unity, grassroots support, and the developmental achievements recorded by its leaders at various levels of government.

He offered prayers for the success of APC candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Deputy Senate President Senator Barau I. Jibrin, Kano State Deputy Governor Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, the member representing Kabo/Gwarzo Federal Constituency, Alhaji Kabiru Alhassan Rurum (Baban Gandu), state assembly candidates, and other APC flag-bearers across the state.

The chairman further urged party members to remain steadfast, loyal, and united behind the party’s leadership, emphasizing that collective commitment and discipline would be crucial in achieving the APC’s electoral objectives.

He also called on voters to support leaders with proven records of service, integrity, and commitment to public welfare, noting that continuity in governance would accelerate ongoing developmental projects and improve the living standards of citizens.

Hon. Lawan expressed confidence that APC candidates would emerge victorious at the polls, assuring supporters that the party would continue to champion policies and programmes aimed at promoting sustainable development, economic growth, and prosperity for the people of Kano State and Nigeria at large.
