A philanthropist and businessman in Katsina State, Ibrahim Ali Guguwa, has declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.
Guguwa made the declaration at a political gathering organised by his foundation, held at the Continental Event Center.
He said his decision followed calls from organisations under the Coalition of Trade Unions, as well as political associates and supporters.
According to him, his ambition is driven by a desire to continue serving the people and to contribute to addressing the challenges facing various communities.
He recalled the contributions of his late father, Ali Guguwa, in politics and humanitarian services, pledging to sustain and build upon his legacy.
Guguwa expressed appreciation for the support shown to him and assured that, if given the opportunity, he would not disappoint his constituency or the people of the state.
“I assure you that if given the chance, I will not disappoint you. I will serve with the fear of Allah and with honesty,” he said.
He also commended Governor Dikko Umar Radda for his leadership qualities and called on the people of the state to vote massively for the APC in the forthcoming 2027 elections.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Guguwa Campaign Organisation, Muhtari Gafson, described Ali Guguwa as the best among the five aspirants contesting for the seat.
Gafson said Guguwa’s decision to contest followed sustained pressure from various organisations and individuals.
He described Guguwa as a man with a strong track record who uses his wealth to support orphans, the vulnerable, and the poor.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Guguwa Foundation, Professor Mohammed Saleh Salga, said the foundation has carried out a series of activities aimed at assisting the needy.
He added that the foundation has also supported victims of banditry and flood disasters.
During the event, a detailed citation of Ibrahim Guguwa was read by Amiru Dayyabu Rafindadi.
