The Forum of Heads of Agencies in Kano State has unanimously endorsed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for a second term in office.
The forum, led by the Managing Director of the Kano State Tourism Board, Tukur Bala Sagagi, announced their decision at a news conference held in Katsina on the sidelines of a three-day workshop on anti-corruption organized by the state government for agency heads.
Sagagi, flanked by all agency leaders, said their endorsement was based on Governor Kabir’s impressive performance across sectors. He highlighted the empowerment of over 36,000 women through various forms of assistance, noting that the administration had disbursed over N1.8 billion as free loans to women, helping them become self-reliant.
He further stated that Governor Yusuf’s administration had spent more than N21 billion in the last two years to settle outstanding gratuities for retired pensioners. Sagagi also praised the renovation of 40 primary health centers and facilities at all government-owned general hospitals to boost healthcare delivery in rural and urban areas.
On infrastructure, Sagagi noted that the government had completed several road projects, including a five-kilometer road abandoned by the previous administration. He said the road construction had opened up new areas and improved connectivity between towns.
He also highlighted the progress of the Tiga Hydro Power Project, which is expected to provide six megawatts of electricity to address the state’s epileptic power supply. Sagagi commended Governor Kabir for initiatives to curb phone snatching in the state.
He praised the National Leader of the NNPP, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for his fatherly role in Kano State’s development and assured that the forum would mobilize support to secure victory for the NNPP in the 2027 elections.
