The Health Reform Foundation of Nigeria (HERFON) has embarked on a mission to increase access to affordable healthcare for vulnerable populations in Yobe State.
In collaboration with the Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA), HERFON is actively engaging with local government officials to encourage enrollment in the agency’s informal sector program.
A recent meeting between HERFON representatives and the Chairman of the Yobe State Association of Local Government Chairmen (ALGON), Hon. Bukar Adamu, yielded positive results.
The ALGON chairman expressed strong support for YSCHMA’s initiative, recognizing its potential to alleviate financial burdens associated with healthcare costs.
Hon. Adamu pledged to enroll 55 vulnerable individuals from Damaturu Local Government Area into the YSCHMA informal sector program. He further committed to working with other local government chairmen to expand the program’s reach and benefit more people.
HERFON’s efforts aim to strengthen the healthcare system in Yobe State by ensuring that vulnerable individuals have access to quality and affordable healthcare services.
By mobilizing resources and raising awareness, HERFON and YSCHMA are working together to improve the health and well-being of the state’s population.
