The Sokoto State Hisbah Board has arrested 19 men and women suspected of engaging in immoral activities during a raid in the Kwannawa area of the state.
The board also sealed two hotels allegedly found to have violated its operational guidelines during the exercise.
The operation, conducted under the ongoing “Operation Tsaftace Birnin Shehu” initiative, is aimed at promoting cleanliness, decency, and adherence to the law within Sokoto metropolis and its surrounding communities.
The exercise was led by the Commandant of the Sokoto State Hisbah Board, Malam Usman Abdullahi Jatau, alongside senior officials of the board, including the Director of Da’awah, Imam Sirajo Abubakar; board member, Malam Abdurrahman Mai Tawul; AC Hassan Mu’azu; and AC Habibah Muhammad.
According to the board, the operation forms part of its ongoing efforts to enforce existing regulations and safeguard public morality across the state.
The Hisbah Board reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining similar operations to ensure compliance with the law and maintain social order throughout Sokoto State.
