A day before Sallah, gunmen attacked Tudun Doki village in Gwadabawa local government area of Sokoto State, killing 6 people and abducting many others.
Gwadabawa local government area in Sokoto East Senatorial zone is among the worst witnessing terrorist attacks, kidnapping, rustling and other criminal activities in the state.
According to eyewitness Ibrahim Adamu, the gunmen entered the village around 11:30 pm on Saturday and killed 5 people, while the number of abducted persons is unknown as some people fled to safety.
Contacted, the Sokoto State Police Command spokesperson, Ahmad Rufa’i, confirmed that 6 people were killed in the attack.
Rufa’i said the police are still trying to determine the exact number of abducted persons.
“It’s a tragic incident, and I hope the authorities will take swift action to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure the safety of the community”.
