In a move aimed at bolstering security across Kebbi State, Governor Nasir Idris has handed over land for the construction of a new Police Mobile Force base in Zuru.
The brief ceremony took place at a strategic location in Zuru and was performed by the Emir of Zuru, Muhammad Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo III.
The land was formally received on behalf of the Kebbi State Commissioner of Police by Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Abubakar Umar Ambursa.
The project fulfils Governor Idris’ commitment made during his recent visit to Zuru and follows his directive to security agencies to restrategise and adopt a more results-oriented security framework across the state.
Speaking at the event, the Emir commended the governor’s sustained efforts to safeguard lives and property, noting that despite the widespread security challenges facing many parts of Nigeria, the Kebbi State Government has continued to support security agencies with vehicles, logistics, and financial assistance.
According to the monarch, the new Police Mobile Force base will strengthen ongoing operations by security agencies in combating armed banditry across the seven local government areas of Kebbi South.
“This mobile base will complement the efforts of other security agencies in addressing armed banditry and enhancing security in the region,” the Emir stated.
He also urged residents to continue supporting government initiatives and to offer prayers for lasting peace and security in the state.
The event was attended by the Chairman of Zuru Local Government Area, Alhaji Muhammad Bala Isah, senior government officials, traditional leaders, and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The development was disclosed by Abdullahi Idris Sadaukin Zuru, Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to the Kebbi State Governor.
