Excerpt:
Q: Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently marked three years in office. What is your assessment of their administrations?
Namadi Dala: First and foremost, I warmly congratulate Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the good people of Kano State on the administration’s third anniversary. The governor has brought significant changes across various sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
While the governor himself stated that he has fulfilled about 90 percent of his campaign promises, I believe the figure is closer to 98 percent. His commitment to development is evident in the projects executed across the state, and he deserves commendation for these achievements.
Q: What specific developments has Kano State witnessed under this administration?
Namadi Dala: The level of development recorded in Kano State cannot be overemphasized. During my time in government, I supervised the completion of numerous projects, and as Commissioner for Transport, we introduced several initiatives aimed at improving transportation and easing the movement of people within the state.
Beyond that, the administration has continued to invest heavily in infrastructure and public services. We have also seen efforts by the Federal Government to advance railway projects, which will further boost economic activities and transportation in Kano and beyond.
Q: What do you expect Kano State to become if Governor Yusuf is re-elected for a second term?
Namadi Dala: I believe Kano State has enormous potential for greater development. The progress already achieved under Governor Yusuf demonstrates his capacity to transform the state. If given another term, I am confident that he will consolidate on existing achievements and deliver even more projects that will improve the lives of the people.
Today, Kano remains one of the most developed and economically vibrant states in Nigeria, and with continuity in leadership, the state can attain even greater heights.
Q: As political activities gather momentum ahead of the next elections, how do you intend to mobilize support among the people of Dala?
Namadi Dala: Mobilizing support is not difficult for us because we are grassroots politicians who understand the needs of our people. We have maintained close relationships with the electorate over the years, and we are confident that they will continue to support the party and its candidates.
In 2023, I served as a campaign leader in Dala, and we worked tirelessly to ensure the success of our candidates. We remain committed to engaging the people and ensuring that their interests are represented. The trust and confidence they have in us will continue to guide our political activities.
Q: What is your message to the people of Kano State?
Namadi Dala: My message to the people of Kano State is to carefully assess the achievements recorded across all sectors and support leaders who have demonstrated commitment to their welfare. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has shown genuine concern for the development of Kano and the well-being of its citizens.
I urge the people to consider the future of their children, the progress of the state, and the benefits of continuity in governance. By supporting capable leadership, Kano State can continue on the path of growth, development, and prosperity.
