From Muawuya Bala Idris, Katsina

The Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State has commenced the construction of a 12-room amenity ward at the Jibia General Hospital, each room equipped with two beds and necessary facilities.

The development was marked by the distribution of various hospital equipment to Jibia and Magama hospitals. Items distributed include blood bags and sets, catheters, disposable gloves, and urine containers, among others.

Speaking at the event, a member of the House of Representatives representing Jibia/Kaita Federal Constituency, Hon. Sada Soli, commended the council for what he described as a “giant effort” in strengthening the health sector.

“I commend the council for awarding the contract for the construction of the amenity ward. The initiative will go a long way in addressing the shortage of beds and improving service delivery for patients,” Soli stated.

Earlier, the Chairman of Jibia Local Government, Sirajo Ado Jibia, said the project and the distribution of hospital facilities were part of his campaign promises.

He assured residents of the council’s commitment to addressing the hospitals’ needs while warning against the misuse of the facilities, noting that their utilisation would be strictly monitored.
