The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has called on the Federal Government to identify and publicize flood-prone zones to prevent loss of life and property.

A statement issued and signed by the JNI Secretary-General, Prof. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, and made available to The Triumph correspondent in Kaduna, emphasized the need for proactive flood control measures, early warning systems, and reinforcement of dams.

The organization expressed concern over recurring flooding in Nigeria, urging a holistic approach to address the issue.

JNI commiserated with victims of recent floods, particularly in Maiduguri, where the Alau Dam breach resulted in significant loss of life and property.

“We appeal to the government to take proactive measures to prevent future occurrences,” Aliyu said.

JNI also called on well-meaning Nigerians and international organizations to provide humanitarian support to affected communities.
