The Amirul Hajj of Kano State, Alhaji Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, has urged food vendors responsible for supplying meals to Kano pilgrims in Saudi Arabia to maintain the provision of quality, nutritious, and hygienically prepared food throughout the Hajj exercise.
Dr. Abdulkadir, who is also the Emir of Gaya, expressed satisfaction with the quality, nutritional value, and richness of the meals being served to Kano pilgrims.
He made the call after he and members of his delegation toured the kitchen facilities of Da’am Almawasem Nima Kitchen Company, where they observed the various stages involved in the preparation of meals before their distribution to pilgrims.
This was contained in a statement issued by Mustapha Muhammad, Head of the Kano Media Team for Hajj Operation 2026.
“I am impressed by the level of hygiene and professionalism maintained in the preparation of the meals before they are delivered to our pilgrims.
“We urge the vendor to sustain this standard and ensure it is not merely for show,” the Amirul Hajj stated.
The Deputy Amirul Hajj and Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Muhammad Muhammad Maharaz, also commended the quality of the meals but urged the vendor to ensure timely delivery, noting that there had been complaints regarding delays in the distribution of food.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Yusuf Lawan, praised Da’am Almawasem Nima Kitchen Company and urged its management to justify the confidence reposed in them by maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Also speaking, the Commander-General of Hisbah, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, commended the efforts of the food vendor and suggested that, if possible, the company should engage a cook capable of preparing the traditional Hausa soup known as Kuka, which is made from powdered baobab leaves and is widely enjoyed by many pilgrims from Northern Nigeria.
Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of Da’am Almawasem Nima Kitchen Company, Alhaji Nur Idris Saleh, while welcoming the Amirul Hajj and his delegation, explained the food preparation process and the various stages involved before meals are delivered to pilgrims.
He emphasized that the company places a high premium on quality, hygiene, and nutrition, adding that all meals are prepared in accordance with the standards and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
