The Kano State Government has commissioned a newly constructed community health post in Gidan Mari, Rogo Local Government Area, marking a significant step toward expanding primary healthcare access in rural communities.

The development was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health, Nabilusi Abubakar K/Na’isa.

Speaking at the commissioning, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Pharmacist Aminu Bashir, described the health post as “a remarkable contribution that brings lifesaving services closer to families who have long struggled to access care.”

He added that the project reflects the administration’s resolve to strengthen grassroots health facilities across all 44 LGAs.

The facility was built and donated by the Director General, Protocol Directorate, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim Rogo.

Dr. Yusuf commended the gesture, saying, “This is a demonstration of genuine community service and partnership with government priorities.”

Also speaking, the Director General of the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB), Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, praised the donor for his humanitarian commitment.

“Projects like this do not only enhance service delivery, they also stimulate local development and create jobs,” he said.

A member of the project committee, Malam Isyaku Bature, disclosed that Alhaji Rogo has built two healthcare facilities in the LGA, describing his interventions as “consistent, impactful, and driven by love for his community.”

Residents of Gidan Mari expressed appreciation, noting that the new health post would significantly ease the burden of traveling long distances for medical care.

The event concluded with the formal commissioning and inspection of the facility by government officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders.
