Kano State Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo, on Tuesday attended the Janaza prayer of a former Supervisory Councillor of Kura Local Government Area, Hon. Maigida Sani, who died on Monday night.
Sani, who was in his early sixties, was buried at the Kura Cemetery after the funeral prayer held in Kura town on Tuesday morning.
The Triumph gathered that, the deceased had reportedly been experiencing intermittent illness but had returned to his normal activities before his death. He is survived by his wife and children.
Garo, who conveyed the condolences of the Kano State Government to the bereaved family, prayed for the forgiveness and eternal rest of the deceased.
“The Deputy Governor prayed to Allah to pardon the deceased, accept his good deeds and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, while asking Allah to give the family the strength to bear the loss,” a statement issued by the Deputy Governor’s spokesman, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu, said.
The funeral was attended by former state Commissioner Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, who is now Executive Director, Finance, of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, and former Head of Service, Usman Bala.
Also present was Bello Gambo, Vice Chairman of Kura Local Government, who represented the council chairman, alongside other political and community leaders.
After the Janaza, Garo visited an APC caucus member in Gaya Local Government Area, Hon. Iliyasu Gamoji, who is receiving treatment at Expert Alliance Hospital, Hotoro.
The deputy governor prayed for Gamoji’s recovery and wished him good health and a speedy return to normal activities.
