The Kano State Government has commiserated with the Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government Area, Amb. Yusuf Imam (Ogan Boye), over the death of his mother-in-law, Hajiya Aisha Iya.
The condolence message was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Public Relations Officer of the Deputy Governor’s Office, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu.
The statement said Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf dispatched a high-powered delegation led by the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, to visit the bereaved family at Kaura Goje quarters in Nasarawa Local Government Area.
Hajiya Aisha Iya, who died after a brief illness at the age of 55, was survived by 13 children and several grandchildren.
During the visit, the Deputy Governor conveyed the sympathy of the state government and the people of Kano to the Nasarawa council chairman and the deceased’s family.
“The Kano State Government and the good people of Kano State sympathise with you during this difficult period,” the statement quoted Garo as saying.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, grant her Aljannatul Firdaus and give the family the strength to bear the loss.
The delegation included other senior government officials who joined the Deputy Governor in paying their respects to the family.
