The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board (KPWB) has announced January 1, 2025, as the closing date for the collection of Hajj deposits from intending pilgrims in the state.

The announcement was made by the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, during a joint meeting with Board staff and Local Government Hajj Center Officers held at his office.

Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa explained that the deadline aligns with the 2025 Hajj Calendar issued by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), which requires all states to remit their intending pilgrims’ details to the Commission by January 7, 2025.

He stressed that meeting this deadline is crucial for ensuring a smooth and successful Hajj operation.

Expressing concern over the low sales of Hajj seats so far, the Director General urged Local Government Hajj Center Officers to intensify efforts to meet their seat allocation targets.

He emphasized the need for innovative strategies to boost seat sales and ensure the state fulfills its obligations within the stipulated timeframe.

Intending pilgrims are strongly advised to complete their deposits by the January 1 deadline, as late payments could result in exclusion from the 2025 Hajj exercise.

The Board reiterated its commitment to facilitating a seamless pilgrimage experience for all registered pilgrims.
