The Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Yahaya Daura, has said that the legislature enjoys full independence under the administration of Governor Dikko Umar Radda.
The Speaker stated this while receiving members of the APC Zallah Network Political Campaign Organisation led by its Director-General, Dr. Bala Nuhu Kankia, in Katsina.
Daura explained that the Assembly operates and conducts its legislative activities without interference from the executive arm of government.
He added that, within the last three years, the Assembly has passed several bills into law covering key sectors such as education, water supply, agriculture, healthcare, youth empowerment, women empowerment, and other areas aimed at improving the living standards of citizens and promoting the development of the state.
The Speaker commended Dr. Bala Nuhu Kankia for establishing the political network and his efforts towards mobilising support for the ruling party.
Earlier, the Director-General of APC Zallah Network, Dr. Bala Nuhu Kankia, said the organisation was established to mobilise support and campaign for the re-election of Governor Dikko Umar Radda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Kankia said the network has established structures across all the 34 local government areas, 361 wards, and polling units in Katsina State.
He disclosed that Governor Radda would soon preside over the inauguration of the political network, calling on stakeholders, including members of the State Assembly, to support the initiative for the successful implementation of its programmes.
Meanwhile, the Katsina State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bishir Gambo Saulawa, expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious in the forthcoming general elections in the state.
“We are confident that Governor Radda and President Tinubu will win the election with a wide margin in Katsina State,” Saulawa said.
He made the statement while receiving members of the APC Zallah Network.
