From Muawuya Bala Idris, Katsina

The Katsina State Government has declared Friday as a public holiday to prepare for and honour the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the state.

Governor Dikko Umar Radda made the announcement while addressing civil servants in the state capital, urging residents to come out en masse to give the President a rousing welcome.

He noted that the President’s visit is significant, as it marks his first official trip to Katsina since assuming office in May 2023.

According to Governor Radda, President Tinubu is expected to commission a number of projects executed by the state government over the past two years.

The governor highlighted that the visit will also feature a crucial meeting between the President and key stakeholders in the state to discuss the pressing issue of insecurity and explore lasting solutions.

In anticipation of the visit, the state capital has taken on a festive atmosphere, with major roads adorned with banners and posters bearing the images of President Tinubu and Governor Radda.

Security has also been heightened across strategic locations in the state to ensure a hitch-free visit.

The Triumph correspondent reports that the visit is seen as a show of support for the Radda administration and a sign of the federal government’s commitment to addressing the lingering security challenges in the North-West region.
