Katsina State Elders Forum has frowned on the alarming rate of hunger and incessant insecurity in the state and entire the North.
Addressing newsmen in Katsina, the chairman of the forum, Habibu Saulawa, lamented that hunger and insecurity have proven to affect the entire North resulting in the hardship and backwardness of the region.
Saulawa who spoke through the secretary of the forum, Ali Muhammad said due to the continued high rise of prices of food items, people can no longer afford three square meals in a day.
“Katsina and the entire North are faced with multiple problems, families can no longer afford three square meals, this is very serious,” the forum laments.
The Forum also expressed concerns about the lingering insecurity engulfing the North despite the presence of soldiers. and other security personnel.
According to the forum, the presence of soldiers has not yielded any positive results as bandits continue to attack communities killing Innocent people.
“The bandits are everywhere and they are known, they know everywhere they are.
“If Nigerian soldiers can go to other African countries and restore peace why not in the Northern part of the country?
