The Katsina State Government has honoured veteran journalist and entrepreneur, Malam Muhammad Danjuma, for his outstanding contributions to youth empowerment, vocational training and job creation through the Katsina Vocational Training Centre.

Danjuma, a long-serving coordinator of the centre and publisher of the online media outfit, Katsina Times, received a certificate of honour from Governor Dikko Umar Radda during a ceremony organised for the distribution of vocational kits to graduates of the Katsina Youth Craft Village.

The Katsina Vocational Training Centre was established by the late former Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Mahammed Dikko Yusuf, to provide unemployed youths with practical skills and opportunities for self-reliance.

Under Danjuma’s coordination, the centre has trained young people in various vocational skills and provided them with financial assistance and working tools to establish businesses and become self-employed.

The centre, regarded as one of the pioneering vocational training institutions in Katsina State, has contributed to efforts to reduce unemployment by equipping young people with skills for economic independence.

Presenting the certificate of honour, Governor Radda acknowledged the contributions of the Katsina Vocational Training Centre to youth development and job creation.

He commended Danjuma for his commitment to sustaining the vision of the centre’s founder and promoting vocational education among unemployed youths.

The governor said his administration would continue to collaborate with individuals and organisations committed to tackling unemployment and improving the economic wellbeing of the people.

In his remarks, Danjuma expressed appreciation to the state government for recognising his contributions, describing the honour as a motivation to continue serving the people.

He also praised the late Mahammed Dikko Yusuf for establishing the vocational training centre and creating opportunities for unemployed youths to acquire practical skills.

Danjuma pledged that the centre would continue to train young people in different vocational skills to complement government efforts towards addressing unemployment and promoting self-reliance in Katsina State.
