The member representing Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State House of Assembly, Honorable Yahayya Nuhu Mahuta, has disbursed business capital and working material to the beneficiaries of the entrepreneurial programme.
Youths were trained on how to operate POS machines for business purposes and empowered by the lawmaker with N40,000 and the POS machine each to start the business.
Triumph learnt that during the event, the lawmakers also disbursed cash assistance to 220 beneficiaries to alleviate the current economic hardship being experienced by the people in the area.
The N15 million naira cash assistance programme by the lawmakers was spread across categories of beneficiaries ranging from party executives, youths, women and the most vulnerable persons in the 11 political wards of the constituency.
Speaking during the event at the Dandume Local Government Secretariat, Mahuta maintained that the empowerment programme was borne out of his desire to contribute to his youth development in the area, which aligned with the state’s Governor Malam Dikko Radda’s initiative toward advancing micro, small and medium enterprises in the state.
“Let me use this opportunity to thank his excellency, our amiable Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, for his unwavering support and courage he has given to us towards assisting our people,” Mahuta stated.
While urging the beneficiaries to use the package for the purpose it was meant for, the lawmakers also called on the people in the constituency to embrace various economic programmes initiated by the state’s present administration for maximum utilisation and to achieve the desired result.
He said, ” The state Governor, Malam Dikko Radda, has initiated various empowerment programmes to uplift your life; I urge you to identify them, be sensitized and try to benefit from them.
“All these are coming after the Governor has embarked on executing various development projects to ensure even distribution of state’s resources across communities.”
Mahuta solicited prayers and support from the people of the area and the state in general for the state to come out of the current security challenges and for the Governor to succeed in his efforts toward uplifting the life of the people and for the development of the state.
