A member of the Federal House of Representatives from Katsina State, Sada Soli Jibia, has sponsored the reconstruction of the palace of the District Head of Jibia, which was destroyed by a rainstorm in 2019.
The reconstruction, which cost about ₦50 million, was funded by the lawmaker’s foundation.
Soli, who represents the Jibia/Kaita Federal Constituency, said he sponsored the project to provide a conducive environment for the district head to perform his duties effectively.
The lawmaker, who was represented at the commissioning ceremony by the Chiroman Jibia and Chairman of the Foundation, Usman Sale Marini, said the palace has been equipped with all necessary facilities.
Soli explained that the reconstruction was part of his foundation’s activities aimed at serving the public.
“My foundation was established to assist the people and promote the development of Jibia, Kaita, and the entire Katsina State,” he said.
He also recalled that the foundation had undertaken various initiatives, including providing assistance to the needy, orphans, women, and children.
According to him, the foundation recently constructed a clinic in Jibia, fully equipped with modern facilities, to complement the efforts of Governor Dikko Radda in delivering healthcare services to the people.
Earlier, the Chairman of Jibia Local Government, Surajo Ado Jibia, commended the foundation for reconstructing the palace.
Surajo, who commissioned the reconstructed palace, assured that his council would continue to collaborate with traditional rulers to enhance security in the area.
In his remarks, the District Head of Jibia and Sarkin Arewa of Katsina, Rabe Rabiu Ibrahim, expressed appreciation to the foundation for the gesture.
