From Maawuya Bala Idris, Katsina
Katsina residents will soon have access to a new source of local news and entertainment as the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has granted a license for the launch of Continental Radio and Television Station.
The commission granted the licence for the take-off of the new station in response to an application by the management of the new station.
In a letter dated 5th September 2024 sent to the chief Executive officer of the new station, Salisu Mamman, the commission said the
approval was under the provision of section 2(1) (b),9 and 23 of the National Broadcasting Commission Act.
The station’s CEO, Salisu Mamman, expressed his excitement about the approval, which he sees as the culmination of three years of hard work.
“The license will enable us to expand our reach, promote diverse perspectives, and contribute to the socioeconomic development of our state and country at large,” Mamman said.
Continental Radio and Television Station promises to provide residents with thrilling new local content, innovative programming, and unparalleled entertainment.
