The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Kebbi State Chapter, has commended the National President of the union, Comrade Audu Titus Amba, for his impactful presentation at the just-concluded Nigeria Workers’ Rights Summit held in Kebbi State.

The commendation was contained in a statement issued by the Kebbi State NUT Chairman, Comrade Zaki Sarki, and made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi.

Comrade Sarki described the NUT National President’s presentation as timely and courageous, saying it reflected the concerns and demands of Nigerian workers at a critical period.

Comrade Audu Titus Amba, who also represented the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) at the summit, called on governments at all levels to respect workers’ rights and uphold the dignity of labour.

He also stressed the readiness of organised labour to continue advocating for an upward review of the National Minimum Wage to reflect the prevailing economic realities and improve workers’ living conditions.

The Kebbi State NUT expressed its total solidarity with the NUT and NLC in the ongoing struggle for improved workers’ welfare, dignity and better conditions of service.

The union and teachers across Kebbi State also acknowledged and appreciated the presence of the NUT National Secretary-General, Dr. Clinton Ikpitibo, and commended his insightful contributions to the Workers’ Rights Summit.

The Kebbi NUT reaffirmed its commitment to supporting all legitimate efforts aimed at protecting workers’ rights and improving their welfare.
