The Kebbi State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) has expressed deep sympathy with the Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Dr. Aisha Garba, following the death of her husband, Malam Saleh Shehu Ashaka.

In a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi and signed by the State Chairman of the union, Comrade Zaki Sarki, the NUT described the loss as painful and profound, not only to the immediate family but also to the education community in Kebbi State and across the country.

According to the statement, the union extended its heartfelt condolences to Dr. Garba, the Kebbi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and the entire family of the deceased.

Comrade Sarki noted that the late Malam Saleh Shehu Ashaka was a man of humility, integrity, and compassion, whose life was marked by service to humanity and a positive impact on those around him.

“On behalf of the leadership, members, and staff of the NUT in Kebbi State, we stand in solidarity with Dr. Aisha Garba and her family, as well as with the management and staff of Kebbi SUBEB under the leadership of Professor Sulaiman Khalid,” the statement read.

The union prayed that Almighty Allah grants the bereaved family the strength, patience, and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“We share in your grief and pray that Allah forgives his shortcomings, accepts his good deeds, and grants him Al-Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah also preserve and protect the family and grant them peace in this time of trial,” the statement added.
