The Kano State Health Trust Fund (KHETFUND), under the leadership of its Executive Secretary, Dr. Fatima Usman Zahraddeen, in collaboration with the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, has established modern physiotherapy and rehabilitation centres at Sheikh Jidda General Hospital and Gezawa General Hospital.
The intervention includes the provision of modern equipment to strengthen physiotherapy, rehabilitation and patient-care services at the two hospitals.
The initiative is expected to improve access to quality physiotherapy services for residents, regardless of their social or economic background.
It will also reduce the burden on patients who previously had to seek such services at federal hospitals or private health facilities.
The intervention underscores the commitment of the Kano State Government and KHETFUND to making quality healthcare more accessible, affordable and equitable across the state.
The initiative also reflects ongoing efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and services and enhance the well-being of the people of Kano State.
