The Kano State Government has vowed to continue strengthening its collaboration with the Federal Government and development partners on educational development.
The Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, made this known when the Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmed, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Kano.
This was contained in a press release issued by Mustapha Muhammad, the Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
“We will continue to collaborate and support every effort aimed at developing education in Kano State,” the Governor said.
He added that the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project has become a beacon of hope, strengthening education through infrastructural development and improved teaching capacity.
Earlier, the Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmed, informed the governor that the state had successfully secured a World Bank “No Objection” for the construction of 49 new schools, valued at N23 billion, adding that contractors have already been mobilized.
She said the project would expand access to education for underserved communities across the state.
The Minister also commended the Kano State Government for the quality of ongoing school projects, noting that a school she visited reflected high standards that the AGILE project should emulate.
