The Chairman of Bichi Local Government Area, Hon. Hamza Sule Mai Fata, has commended the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for providing about 90,000 bags of fertiliser to farmers across the state at subsidised rates to enhance agricultural productivity.
Speaking with journalists, Hon. Hamza Sule Mai Fata described the initiative as a timely intervention that would ease the financial burden on farmers and boost food production during the current farming season.
He said Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s decision to make fertiliser available at affordable prices demonstrates the administration’s commitment to supporting agriculture, enhancing food security, and improving the livelihoods of farmers across Kano State.
The council chairman assured residents that the Bichi Local Government would strictly comply with the directives of the state government to ensure that the subsidised fertiliser reaches only genuine and deserving farmers.
“Insha Allah, we will do everything within our power to ensure transparency in the distribution process.
“We will make sure that every eligible farmer benefits from this programme in line with the directive of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf,” he said.
Hon. Hamza Sule Mai Fata further urged farmers in the area to cooperate with the distribution committees and refrain from any act that could undermine the government’s efforts.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Bichi Local Government Council to supporting all agricultural programmes initiated by the Kano State Government, expressing confidence that the fertiliser subsidy would significantly increase crop yields, strengthen food security, and improve the economic wellbeing of farming communities across the state.
