The Kano State Government has demonstrated its commitment to supporting its citizens in need, with the distribution of foodstuff and cash donations to 49 indigenes who were stranded in Ghana and later evacuated and rehabilitated by the state government.
The state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf explained that during the distribution of foodstuff and cash to returnees from Ghana on Saturday.
The Governor ably represented by the state Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye urged them to take caution against illegal movements outside Nigeria.
Baba Dantiye added that the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir is very magnanimous which is why he has given them food items and cash so that they can start a new life and plans for Business
In her remarks the Commissioner for Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation Hajiya Amina Sani said, the Ghana returnees were fully certified medically before being handed over to their families.
The Commissioner added that the government will sanction any deportee who took any opportunity provided for granted across the state.
Hajiya Amina Sani called on parents to take caution in giving out their children in marriage to individuals outside the country.
“You should be fully careful when giving out your children in marriage not because you see somebody well dressed and rush your daughters to marriage,” he said.
She advised the returnees to make the best use of the items given to them to help themselves.
In their different remarks, the returnees expressed their gratitude to Allah for rewarding them with Abba Gida-Gida as a Governor of their dear state.
The returnees also thanked the Governor and all the people showing them love and mercies, and praying for them to succeed at any level.
