The Chairman of Kabo Local Government Area Hon.Lawan Najume Kabo has showered praises on Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, describing him as one of the most supportive and development-oriented governors in the history of democratic governance in the state.
Speaking at a public gathering in Kabo, the council chairman said Governor Yusuf had demonstrated an uncommon commitment to grassroots development by empowering local government councils and granting them the freedom and resources needed to effectively serve their communities.
According to him, since the return of democratic rule in Nigeria, Kano State has never witnessed a governor who has given local government administrations the level of support currently being enjoyed under Governor Yusuf leadership.
Hon. Lawan noted that the governor has consistently prioritized projects that directly impact the lives of ordinary people, adding that Kabo Local Government has benefited immensely from numerous developmental initiatives executed by the state government.
He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for blessing the people of Kabo with capable leaders, saying the governor commitment to good governance has restored public confidence in government institutions.
The chairman further disclosed that Governor Yusuf’s administration has ensured prompt attention to requests from local government councils, stressing that official correspondences from his office receive swift responses from the governor.
“As chairman of Kabo Local Government, I can confidently say that no official request from my office remains unattended for long at the governor’s office. His Excellency is always ready to listen and respond to issues affecting our people,” he stated.
Hon. Lawan revealed that one of the governor earliest directives to newly elected local government chairmen was to prioritize the renovation and rehabilitation of local government secretariats in order to create a conducive working environment for civil servants and improve service delivery.
He also commended Governor Yusuf for providing official vehicles to local government chairmen, secretaries and Directors of Personnel Management (DPMs), describing the gesture as unprecedented in Kano’s democratic history.
The council boss further lauded the governor transparency in governance, emphasizing that local governments are allowed to execute projects without interference or demands for kickbacks from contract funds.
“Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has never demanded any percentage from funds allocated for projects executed by local governments. This has greatly enhanced accountability and accelerated development at the grassroots level,” he said.
On recent political developments, Hon. Lawan expressed confidence in the governor political strength and popularity, maintaining that the people of Kano State remain solidly behind his administration because of its achievements and people-centered policies.
He assured residents that if Governor Yusuf is given more opportunities to continue his developmental agenda, Kano State stands to benefit from even greater infrastructural and socioeconomic transformation.
The chairman also highlighted the administration commitment to the welfare of retired civil servants, noting that the governor has continued to settle pension obligations, thereby bringing relief to thousands of retirees across the state.
He urged the people of Kano to continue supporting Governor Yusuf’s administration in order to sustain the ongoing developmental strides and consolidate the gains already recorded across various sectors.
