The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has intensified surveillance at border areas to stop the influx of small arms and light weapons into the country.
The Custom Coordinator Zone B, Gumbo Dangaladima who spoke in Katsina state said the measure taken is to end the insecurity problem.
Dangaladima who addressed officers and men of Katsina state Command assured that the insecurity problem facing the country will soon be over.
He further said NCS has taken strategic measures at the nation’s border to fight against economic saboteur and criminality.
“We are committed to protecting our borders and preventing the influx of contraband goods as well as the proliferation of small arms and light weapons,” he said.
Dangaladima who charged officers to remain committed to their work, assured them of the resolution of Comptroller General Adeniyi to improve their welfare.
Earlier Comptroller of Katsina Command, Abba Aji said the Command has 12 border areas that are not active.
Aji, however, said the federal government had recently reopened the Jibia border area for legitimate business. Compose Message
