The National Orientation Agency (NOA) said henceforth September 16th of every year is to be observed as National Symbol Enlightenment Day.

The Katsina Director of the agency, Muhtari Lawal Tsagam, at a news conference in Katsina, said the agency will vigorously promote the symbol to ensure that they are accorded respect and properly displayed.

Tsagam said the Enlightenment Day would assist in building love and unity among Nigerians.

Tsagam commended President Tinubu for the reintroduction of the old national anthem, saying it is a significant step in reaffirming our national pride and unity.

“The Anthem is more than a song, it is a symbol of our collection aspiration and values,” he said.

The Director, who spoke on national value character, noted that the reintroduction of the character is to instil a sense of patriotism and civil responsibility among Nigerians.

“Over the years, we have witnessed a decline in the adherence to our national values leading to a disconnect and unity among citizens,” he emphasised.

He further said: “The national values charter seeks to address the problem by establishing a framework for value orientation and character moulding.”

Tsagam called on the active participation of both the government and Nigerians for National values for building our nation.

He commended the Katsina state government for its effort to sanitise society by providing job opportunities to youth.

He urged the people of the  state to join hands with the government in transforming the state.
