The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zamfara State Council, has congratulated one of its distinguished former chairmen, former Press Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, and former Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad (Danmadamin Birnin Magaji), on his conferment with the prestigious Honorary Fellowship of the Linguistic Association of Nigeria (LAN) in 2026.
The conferment took place on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abuja, during the 37th National Conference of the association.
According to the NUJ Zamfara State Council, the honour is a significant recognition of Ibrahim Muhammad’s contributions to education, scholarship, research, language development, culture, and community service.
The council noted that, as a former Chairman of the NUJ Zamfara State Council, he made valuable contributions to the growth and development of journalism and the media profession in Zamfara State.
His subsequent service as Press Secretary and Commissioner for Information and Culture, the council added, further demonstrated his commitment to public service, effective communication, and the promotion of the cultural and educational values of society.
The NUJ Zamfara State Council described the honour as a source of great pride to the council and the entire journalism community in the state.
It congratulated Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad on the recognition and appreciated the acknowledgement of his years of service and contributions to society.
The council also prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to grant him good health, wisdom, strength, and greater opportunities to serve humanity.
It further prayed for continued blessings on his endeavours, increased knowledge and impact, and elevation to greater heights.
